Job Opportunity: Community Engagement Specialist

The Census of Population and Housing is a comprehensive snapshot of Australia, providing insights into how we are changing.

Role Overview

As a Community Engagement Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of the Census. Your responsibilities will include managing engagement activities across Australia, collaborating with community organisations and groups to share Census messaging, assisting with recruitment, raising awareness, and maximising participation in the Census.

  • Plan, manage, and execute engagement strategies for harder-to-reach population groups in your area.
  • Collaborate with community organisations and service providers to gather support for the Census.
  • Provide in-field assistance when required for Census assisted completion activities.
  • Supervise and assist field and engagement staff with procedural queries.
  • Be responsible for storing materials related to Census promotion and where required, store materials for the field staff working in your area.
  • Conduct any required field work with safety and care, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of any staff you may be required to supervise.
  • Assist in recruiting and training field and engagement staff for multiple engagement streams.
