Operational Purchasing Specialist Job Overview

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Operational Purchasing Specialist to lead our procurement efforts. This key position will be responsible for planning and executing the purchasing of goods and materials to meet both internal and external demand.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.

  • Coordinate the procurement of standard items to meet customer requirements
  • Evaluate purchase requests against inventory records and stock on hand
  • Analyze daily purchase requisition reports and convert as necessary
  • Create purchase orders with local vendors for specific demand requirements and expedite orders to meet delivery dates
  • Verify vendor acknowledgements to ensure delivery meets required customer dates
  • Record order confirmations and notifications to stakeholders
Key Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of high-level SAP experience
  • Mature understanding of Supply Chain Management, including Incoterms, Warehousing, and Logistics
  • Ability to manage competing demands and work towards tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Capacity to work independently while liaising closely with major stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of customer requirements
  • Strong communication, cooperation, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Understanding of customer and supplier development trends and technologies
