About the Role:


This is a 12-month hybrid full-time role that seeks expressions of interest from qualified Orthoptists or Access Technology Specialists.


The position offers a Canberra location with flexibility to work from home, providing an ideal balance between office and remote work.


As part of our team at Vision Australia, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including a base salary of $97,377.28, superannuation, and salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum.


Job Description:


As an Access Technology and Vision Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing services that focus on client needs and goals, utilizing a person-centered and strengths-based approach.


You will provide functional vision assessments and recommendations to support clients in making effective use of their vision, including the use of low vision aids, lighting, and other specialist equipment.


Additionally, you will deliver Access Technology training to clients, either individually or in small groups, in various formats and environments, such as workplaces, homes, and Vision Australia centers.


Training may be delivered face-to-face, over the phone, or via video conference and other remote technologies.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


To be successful in this role, you will need a degree-level qualification relevant to the delivery of Access Technology services, such as Allied Health or Technology, and/or extensive experience in technology support and training for individuals who are blind or have low vision.


A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable, as is knowledge and skills in working with children, adults, and older adults.


Approved qualifications in Orthoptics and registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board are also essential.
