Job Description:

The Safety Lead is responsible for promoting and implementing safety practices throughout the Melbourne Liquor Distribution Centre. This involves collaborating with Operational Managers to develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs that minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with stakeholders to identify areas of improvement, monitor incident management reviews, and lead initiatives to foster a positive and resilient safety culture. Your goal will be to deliver timely and accurate safety performance data to support business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Collaborate with Operational Managers to design and implement effective safety training programs
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, including investigation reports and action plans
  • Communicate safety information to employees, contractors, and visitors through regular updates and training sessions
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in developing and implementing safety initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with employees at all levels
  • Comfort with working independently, with minimal supervision
  • Advanced investigation training, with exposure to distribution centre environments (desired)

This role offers a competitive salary package, including:

  • A base salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience

Location:

This role is based at our Melbourne Liquor Distribution Centre, located in Laverton North. You will be required to work on-site, Monday to Friday, with occasional travel to other locations as needed.
