About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Urban Planner to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our Urbanism + Planning team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Queensland through significant planning and development projects.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and contributing towards a wide range of exciting projects, including urban renewal and precinct plans, revitalisation strategies for regional cities, and planning scheme reviews. You will have a passion for cities and a keen eye for detail, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Use your knowledge and technical expertise to interpret and apply planning legislation and planning schemes across various projects.
  2. Lead strategic planning projects, providing technical oversight and ensuring projects run to schedule and budget.
  3. Deliver high-quality project outcomes and generate future business for the local planning team.
  4. Mentor junior planners within the team, aiding with their professional and technical development.

Requirements

  • Degree in Town/Urban Planning (or similar) with at least 8 years of strategic town planning experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of planning strategies, planning schemes/policies, business cases, and development applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and experience with ArcGIS and Adobe Creative Suite (advantageous).
