Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Urban Planner to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our Urbanism + Planning team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Queensland through significant planning and development projects.

About the Role:

  • Lead various strategic planning projects across regional planning initiatives, precinct and master planning by providing technical oversight and ensuring projects run to schedule and budget.
  • Use your knowledge and technical experience to interpret and apply planning legislation and planning schemes across a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Mentor junior planners within the team, aiding with their professional and technical development.
  • Deliver high-quality project outcomes and generate future business for the local planning team.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Town/Urban Planning (or similar) with 8+ years of strategic town planning experience for a consultancy or Government Department (or both).
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of planning strategies, planning schemes/policies, business cases, and development applications.
  • Ability to play a key part in multi-disciplinary project teams by working collaboratively and operating outside your comfort zone to explore new, innovative concepts and techniques.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
