About the Role

The Specialist Employment Mentor position at Workskil Australia Ltd is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to support Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander customers in their transition to employment.

This role requires a deep understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as well as the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively to build trusting relationships.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with Indigenous communities, mentoring customers in employment, and a strong passion for helping people find sustainable and meaningful employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive mentoring to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander customers to ensure their transition into employment is successful and sustained.
  • Work effectively with a culturally diverse range of clients, employers, and staff to achieve employment outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized employment plans to meet the needs of customers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers and industry partners to secure job opportunities for customers.
  • Conduct regular progress reviews and provide ongoing support to customers to ensure they are meeting their employment goals.
Requirements
  • Experience working sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Experience mentoring Indigenous customers in employment.
  • Strong passion and drive for helping people find sustainable and meaningful employment.
  • Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse range of clients, employers, and staff.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with an ability to represent Workskil Australia Ltd to customers, funding bodies, employers, RTOs, Indigenous Communities, and other stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of the local labour market.
  • Understanding of case management framework.
  • Sales and customer service experience.
  • Extensive working knowledge of federally funded Employment Programs and funding models.
  • Proven ability to work in an outcome-based, high-pressure environment, positively and with enthusiasm.
