The Australia Sector has over 1,200 employees operating across four countries: Australia, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Headquartered in Nowra, New South Wales, QinetiQ Air Affairs provides targets and training services, electronic warfare capabilities, aerial surveillance, and reconnaissance support for the Australian Defence Force.
As the Program Manager for Joint Adversarial Training and Testing Services (JATTS) and Common Services Support (CSS) programs, you will manage these two key programs based in Nowra. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the delivery of JATTS and CSS project outcomes according to agreed plans and baselines, ensuring effective governance, assurance, and reporting on all activities.
- Identifying and capturing growth opportunities related to JATTS and CSS to further develop QinetiQ's global capabilities in Threat Representation.
- Developing, mentoring, and coaching team members to achieve growth and development goals.
- Promoting a strong safety culture with emphasis on hazard identification, active reporting, continuous improvement, and learning, with zero tolerance for unsafe work practices and behaviours.
Day-to-day tasks will involve:
- Providing program management support across JATTS and CSS contracts, ensuring compliance and delivery requirements are met.
- Exploring opportunities for development within JATTS and CSS contracts.
- Liaising across the business to collaborate, develop, and implement resolutions to address complex problems and issues across multiple teams, successfully motivating and influencing key stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Significant knowledge of defence contracts and experience managing complex defence projects.
- Negotiation experience: commercial, projects, and services delivery with customers and suppliers.
- Tertiary qualification/s in Engineering, Project Management, Business Management, or other relevant discipline (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills with strong stakeholder engagement ability.
- Demonstrated influencing skills and experience liaising across a multidisciplinary organisation.
- Eligibility for registration as a Registered Project Manager (Reg PM) and certification as a CPPP through the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) (or equivalent).
- NV1 Clearance.
This role requires significant knowledge of defence contracts, negotiation experience, and excellent communication skills. In return, you will be part of a dynamic team working on complex defence projects, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
