Syrian Refugee Support Specialist

The Legal Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the Info Hub's mission to provide coordinated, efficient and measurable protection for Syrian refugees.
- The Legal Assistant will engage with Syrian refugees at the WATAN Info Hub in Mersin & Izmir to offer necessary guidance and orientation.
- They will assist the legal consultant in providing comprehensive legal advice and counseling.
- Accompaniment to appointments with authorities is also expected.
- Informing Syrian refugees about their legal, civil and social rights and responsibilities is crucial.
- Assisting the legal consultant in supervising volunteers and ensuring their skills are optimally utilized.
- Supporting staff and beneficiaries with legal queries.
- Collaboration with other staff, specialists and interpreters is essential.
- Conducting legal awareness sessions when required.
- Referencing vulnerable cases to relevant stakeholders or organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on legal matters and stay updated on relevant developments.
- Maintaining vigilance through monitoring national and international news outlets for relevant information.
- Liaising with government officials, partner organizations and individuals is vital.
- Regular reporting on migrants and refugees' common problems and needs.
- Organizing and maintaining documents in filing systems is imperative.
