
Psychosocial Support Specialist

The WATAN Foundation, in partnership with various humanitarian organizations, is providing vital assistance to individuals affected by the Syrian crisis in Syria and Turkey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert psychosocial support, counseling, and organize related activities.
- Strengthen referral pathways between community actors and connect PSS services with MHPSS providers.
- Ensure all activities meet project objectives and outcomes.
- Report accurately to the psychologist, participate in project monitoring, and provide relevant information on project activities and achievements.
- Identify, analyze, and reduce risk factors.
- Develop and implement preventive measures.
Requirements:
- Assess the needs of referred individuals and families.
- Develop and implement appropriate activities based on identified needs and monitor progress.
- Ensure project implementation meets objectives and report regularly on key issues.
- Document each session to meet donor audit requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate potential risk factors.
- Participate in internal meetings and report security-related issues to the line manager.
- Bachelor's degree in psychology or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience working in humanitarian aid programs, including refugee populations.
- Prior experience in protection programs.
- Excellent team player with strong planning and communication skills.
- Strong report writing and documentation skills.
- Fluent spoken and written Arabic.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team in a sensitive environment.
- Spoken Turkish or English.
- Prior experience participating in humanitarian coordination mechanisms.
- Management experience.
