Job Opportunity

As a Legal Consultant, you will be part of a team providing humanitarian assistance to people affected by the Syrian crisis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of coordinated protection for Syrian refugees
  • Meet with Syrian refugees to provide guidance and orientation
  • Provide legal trajectory and counseling through a "take them by the hand" approach
  • Accompany beneficiaries to appointments with authorities
  • Inform Syrian refugees about their legal, civil, and social rights and responsibilities
  • Assist with legal questions from staff and beneficiaries
  • Conduct legal awareness sessions for staff members and beneficiaries
  • Refer vulnerable cases to relevant stakeholders, UN agencies, or NGOs
  • Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments
  • Monitor national and international news outlets for relevant social, legal, and political developments
  • Liaise with government officials, partner organizations, and individuals
  • Report migrants and refugees' common problems and needs in access to rights and services
  • Report challenges and progress recorded when realizing duties
  • Update staff about legislative changes
  • Organize and maintain documents in filing systems
  • Write reports to help lawyers prepare for trials
