**Job Opportunity**

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to join our team. As a Mental Health/Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to individuals with complex trauma, physical disabilities, and/or psycho-social challenges.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing daily living skills and community activities that cater to the unique needs of our participants, which may include housekeeping, personal hygiene, administering medication, and transportation to appointments and community activities.
  2. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of participant needs and care plans, including changes to their care requirements.
  3. Fostering community inclusion and participation, dependent on individual needs, abilities, and preferences, and supporting participants to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities and services.
  4. Collaborating with the participant's clinical team, attending training sessions, and regular updates to ensure all treatment plans are met and implemented to a high standard of care.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • A qualification in disability, mental health, or a related field (desirable)
  • 2 years' experience working with people with complex mental illness, providing behavioral support
  • Demonstrated experience supporting participants with high needs
  • A clear understanding of professional boundaries and restrictive practices
  • The ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision, and under pressure
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear case notes
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate as part of a diverse team and work autonomously
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • NSW Drivers license and vehicle
