Event Operations Manager

A global event technologies company is seeking an experienced Event Operations Manager to join their team.

  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality events and a passion for working in the events industry.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Exercise professional manner in liaising with specialist sub-contractors
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of event production
  • Show sound working knowledge of theatrical devices and have a good eye for detail
  • Demonstrate superior fault-finding capabilities and consider technical redundancy in show specifications
  • Ensure security of equipment and cables
  • Assist in installation, operation and pack down of equipment in a safe manner as required
  • Notify Client Operations Supervisor or day operations of any difficulties related to venues/job
  • Assist Client Operations Team to ensure efficient running of event staging services within the venue
  • Ensure smooth and efficient running of audiovisual department activities
  • Check rooms including setup of audio visual equipment prior to function commencement
  • Coordinate with venue set-up and breakdown staff so as to provide smooth interaction between venue tasks and the company
  • Liaise with Client Operations Team to ensure clear communication regarding events in the venue
  • Inform appropriate people of any areas of concern so that problems with equipment, crew, venue staff or clients can be rectified expediently
  • Assist where needed, the rostering/sourcing of crew to complete daily tasks
  • Assist crew with responsibility for maintenance and storage of all equipment
  • Log all damage to the company and/or venue property and take appropriate action to mitigate loss
  • Be responsible for appearance and operational performance of staff
  • Understand and adhere to Client Venue Policies and Procedures and ensure company crew at the host venue follow these
  • Where necessary, make changes and additions to jobs quoted to ensure correct equipment is on the order and available
  • Assist in stock control and monitor integrity of equipment for the venue
  • Attend operational meetings with venue personnel
  • Ensure maintenance and cleanliness of all storage areas and equipment within the venue
