Competition Development Expert

The Competition Support Lead is a pivotal role in the success of our tournaments.

This position plays a critical part in supporting our strategy to enhance and grow the Big Bash League and Women's Big Bash League as leading competitions with world-class support systems.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in competition operations, including player contracting, player logistics, player movement, and league competitive balance policies and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Player Contracting Management: End-to-end management of the player contracting program for both leagues, including lead annual discussion on player contracting rules, policies, and initiatives.
  • League Operations: Manage key competition operations areas, including player logistics, player movement, and league competitive balance policies and initiatives.
  • Club Support: Provide contracting compliance support and expertise to clubs across both leagues, assisting them with player logistics requirements and ensuring compliance with MOU, TPA, and relevant guidelines.
  • Trade Periods Management: Manage end-to-end processes for Big Bash Trade Periods annually.
  • Compliance and Education: Develop and deliver appropriate communication and education to clubs and player agents to ensure ongoing compliance with the salary cap and Big Bash Rules.
  • Relationship Management: Manage the relationship between clubs and the CA Integrity Unit/Legal Team with respect to relevant league operations areas.
