Victim Support Specialist
We are seeking a Victim Support Specialist to provide expert support and guidance to victims of crime.
This is a critical role within the police service, requiring a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding victim support.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will have experience working with victims of family violence, sexual assault, and other forms of trauma. They will also possess a strong understanding of systemic barriers faced by marginalized communities in the justice system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing emotional support and practical advice to victims of crime
- Assessing individual needs and providing referrals to relevant services
- Collaborating with law enforcement agencies and community organizations to ensure effective support networks
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in community services, social work, criminology, or a related field
- Experience working with victims of family violence, sexual assault, and other forms of trauma
- Strong understanding of systemic barriers faced by marginalized communities in the justice system
