Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Lived Experience Carer Peer Worker to collaborate with the clinical team, promoting clients' wellbeing through one-to-one peer support.

About the Role

  • Utilize an empathetic and informed approach to intervene and provide hope and recovery to families, carers, and supporters impacted by mental health and substance use challenges.
  • Empower carers to discover their own solutions and take ownership of the journey.
  • Facilitate referrals to internal and external services, family/carers/supporter support groups, and education.

Requirements

  • Lived and/or living experience of supporting a loved one navigating the Victorian public mental health system.
  • Sound understanding of mental health peer support principles and ability to utilize peer support to promote hope and recovery.
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or equivalent willingness to obtain same.
