Job Description

As a Therapy Assistant, you will work in a dynamic environment providing mobility and exercise programs to residents under the direction and supervision of physiotherapists.

You will be responsible for delivering therapy-based activity programs as directed and accompanying resident groups on outings.

  • Deliver therapy-based activities such as recreational and therapeutic programs to residents.
  • Work with occupational therapists to develop and implement therapy plans.
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists to provide mobility and exercise programs to residents.
  • Support residents in their daily lives by assisting them with tasks and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver recreational and therapeutic activity programs to residents under the direction of occupational therapists.
  2. Participate in the organization and planning of therapy programs.
  3. Deliver a range of therapy-based activity programs as directed.
  4. Accompany resident groups on outings.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role preferred (Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff to deliver quality lifestyle and therapy activities.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Empathy with the elderly.
  • Australian working rights and ability to pass a national police clearance.
