Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Short Tail Portfolio, driving financial performance and strategic growth across Commercial & Intermediated assets.

The Role

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing portfolio strategies, managing risk and return, and leading a team of portfolio managers and product specialists. Your expertise in insurance underwriting, pricing, and portfolio management will be crucial in optimizing our short and long-term financial performance.

You will contribute to the development of clear go-to-market strategies, business cases, and tactical solutions that align with our commercial priorities and risk appetite. Additionally, you will work closely with our Leadership Team to ensure broader commercial objectives are considered in strategic recommendations.

  • Drive Financial Performance: Develop and execute portfolio strategies that optimize risk and return over the short and long term.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Lead a team of portfolio managers and product specialists to ensure a robust control environment across Insurance and Operational Risk.
  • Develop Go-to-Market Strategies: Create clear go-to-market strategies for each of the Short Tail Portfolios, taking into consideration market opportunity, group risk appetite, and market performance.
  • Deliver Business Results: Deliver financial results against Medium Term ITR targets for each Short Tail product.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a field related to insurance or finance.
  • Extensive commercial experience in insurance, preferably in a leadership or portfolio management role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of portfolio, underwriting, and pricing practices.
