Fieldwork Placement Coordinator Role

This critical position plays a pivotal role in ensuring Community Services students gain high-quality practical experience.

As the Fieldwork Placement Coordinator, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of fieldwork placements for the Bachelor of Community Services program. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to manage relationships, arrange student placements in both government and non-government agencies, and provide expert advice on placement development and supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing all aspects of community services field placements, including developing systems to ensure CWA compliance, building relationships with external organizations for diverse opportunities, and providing essential support and guidance to students, agency supervisors, and host organizations throughout the placement process.
  • Collaborating with academic staff and the Work Placement Team to develop policies, administer agreements, oversee student records, and maintain academic standards.
  • Designing and delivering preparation workshops for students, recruiting, training, and supporting Academic Liaison Visitors, and fostering a positive culture that upholds Ikon's values while ensuring regulatory compliance (AQF, CWA, ESOS, National Code).
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor Degree or higher in Social Work, Community Services, Social Welfare, or Human Services, and a minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification industry experience.
  • Full membership or eligibility for full membership of the Community Work Australia (CWA).
  • Knowledge of contemporary developments in the community services sector informed by continuing scholarship and/or practice.
  • Experience in supervising community services students in work-based contexts, with exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving, organisational, and analytical abilities, including the capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet competing deadlines with accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
