Key Job Responsibilities
  • Training Design and Delivery: Develop, adapt and deliver comprehensive training programs for AMWU workplace leaders and union officials.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Act as a mentor and coach for workplace leaders and officials, providing guidance to develop as effective union leaders.
  • Content Development: Create and refine training content in areas including organising, industrial relations, and campaigning, ensuring relevance to current issues.
  • Training Planning: Plan and execute training independently, aligning content with the Union's educational goals and strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • Union Values: A deep commitment to union values: justice, inclusion, equality, and social responsibility.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience as a union educator focused on leadership development.
  • Adult Education Expertise: Expertise in adult education, especially participatory learning techniques.
  • Training Design Skills: Significant experience in training design and delivery (both formal and on-the-job).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse groups.
  • Independence: Proven ability to plan and execute independently.
