Job Title: Innovation Product Manager

Join the University of New South Wales as an Innovation Product Manager and lead the development and implementation of innovative products and services within UNSW IT.

About the Role

This is a visionary leadership role that requires a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy. The successful candidate will have experience in product management and development lifecycle, with a focus on innovation and new product development, and a proven track record of timely delivery and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritise product requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Define, agree and communicate the product vision, strategy to stakeholders ensuring alignment and clarity.
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams in the creation and development of new innovative products and services.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify and uncover opportunities for innovation products and approaches.
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring initiative and projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product team. Align with and actively demonstrate the UNSW Values in Action: Our Behaviours and the UNSW Code of Conduct.
  • Act as a catalyst for change, promoting and encouraging a mindset shift towards embracing innovation and experimentation.
  • Monitor and analyse product performance metrics, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and product improvements.
Requirements
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy.
  • Experienced in product management and development lifecycle, with a focus on innovation and new product development, with attention to timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in managing cross-functional, virtual teams.
  • Proficient in monitoring and analysing product performance metrics using data analysis techniques.
  • Innovative and creative with the ability to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and customer-centric design principles. An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
