A Dedicated Mental Health Specialist
Role OverviewThis position is a unique opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team that provides in-reach services to young people and families within headspace Chatswood and Brookvale.
Key Responsibilities- Providing specialist mental health interventions to young people and their families
- Assessment, evidence-based interventions, collaborative care planning with young people, their parents/caregivers, and other systems of support as appropriate
- Working collaboratively with stakeholders to provide assessment, evidence-based interventions, and care planning with young people, their parents/caregivers, and other systems of support as necessary
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA (or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers)
- Extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in providing assessment, formulation, and evidence-based individual and family interventions such as CBT, DBT, attachment-based therapies, and family therapy in the treatment of serious mental health problems in young people and early intervention for first episode psychosis for young people aged 12-24
- Strong assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to work effectively with young people and their families
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
- Knowledge of best practice models and frameworks for working with young people and their families
