Communications and Engagement Specialist

About the Role:

The Communications and Engagement Coordinator will play a key role in promoting the Australian Creative Histories and Futures project, a national research infrastructure project developed by researchers at UNSW's School of the Arts & Media in collaboration with the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engagement and communication strategies to promote the project's purpose and outcomes.
  • Co-design a communications plan with the ACHF Research Leads and Project Manager using the ARDC communication toolkit.
  • Lead the delivery of the ACHF project communications plan, including sector engagement, to achieve the ACHF project engagement KPIs.
  • Collaborate with the UNSW communications team and the ARDC communications and marketing team to develop and pitch media releases and stories that promote ACHF through all forms of media.
  • Manage digital channels (web, eDM, social) to grow reach, engagement, and impact while ensuring delivery is consistent with policy and brand guidelines of both universities.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience in a similar role.
  • Proven track record in delivering and measuring strategic and creative engagement, marketing, and communications initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting events and a sound understanding of the steps involved in working with event owners, presenters, stakeholders, and audiences.
  • Proven experience in website content creation and management.
  • Demonstrated writing skills with strong attention to detail and talent for creating audience-specific content in a range of formats and distilling complex information into clear messages.
