We are in search of a dedicated leader to assume the role of Recreation Centre Operations Manager, overseeing the management of two premier recreational facilities. This position involves ensuring the smooth operation of both centres, with a focus on enhancing community engagement and service delivery.
About the Facilities:
Managed on behalf of the local council, the Aquatic Centre is a versatile facility featuring multiple swimming pools, a water slide, a fitness gym, and a vibrant café area.
In addition, the Integrated Wellness Centre, situated centrally, boasts extensive health and fitness amenities, including spacious gym areas, a group fitness studio, and a café. This centre also collaborates with local service providers to offer essential health and disability services.
Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Area Manager, the Recreation Centre Operations Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive management of both facilities, focusing on business growth and adherence to operational budgets and compliance standards.
The role encompasses staff leadership, financial oversight, marketing strategies, risk management, and the development of programs and services that resonate with community needs.
We seek an individual who can forge meaningful connections with local organizations, ensuring our centres effectively serve the community. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in the recreation, leisure, or fitness sectors, demonstrating a proven track record of successful management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing facility operations with a minimum of 3-5 years of management experience.
- Exhibiting exceptional communication skills for effective reporting.
- Understanding community recreation dynamics.
- Managing facility contracts and staff effectively.
- Handling financial management and budget development.
- Implementing and evaluating community-focused programs.
- Maintaining First Aid and CPR certifications.
Flexibility is essential, as the role may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays to meet operational demands.
