Key Responsibilities- Mission Planning and Coordination: Determine the most appropriate asset for each mission, taking into account factors such as patient condition, distance, and weather conditions.
- Flight Scheduling and Routing: Coordinate multi-stop flights and routing in consultation with duty crews and medical retrieval consultants.
- Communication and Information Management: Relay critical information to duty crews, medical retrieval consultants, and other stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Crew Management and Resource Allocation: Prioritize competing cases, consider crew composition, and allocate resources effectively to ensure timely and safe patient transportation.
- Ground Transport and Companion Travel: Organize ground transport and companion/relative travel, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to patient care.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor timings and mission progress, maintaining accurate records and producing internal and external status reports as required.
- Autonomy and Efficiency: Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and efficiently in a high-pressure work environment.
- Interpersonal Communication and Problem-Solving: Possess highly effective interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Confidentiality and IT Skills: Maintain confidential information and possess proven IT skills in a range of applications and data entry, including typing skills.
- Emergency Communications Techniques: Trained or qualified in emergency communications techniques.
- Command Structure Experience: Experience working within a command structure.
- Flight Dispatch and Patient Dispatch Experience: Experience gained from a flight dispatch and/or patient dispatch role.
- Aviation or Clinical Experience: Previous experience in an aviation or clinical/emergency services environment.
- Air Maestro or Aviation Systems Experience: Experience in Air Maestro or other aviation-based systems.
