About the Job

The role of a cleaner is essential in maintaining a clean and healthy environment for students to learn.

Toogoolawah State High School provides public education to students, and our cleaners play a vital part in keeping the school premises clean.

Responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing various areas, including classrooms, staffrooms, manual arts, home economics, special education classrooms, sports halls, gymnasium, library, and main office areas.
  • Maintaining equipment and using chemicals appropriately.
  • Disposing of rubbish and controlling litter.
  • Securing buildings and activating/disarming security systems.
  • Undertaking high levels of cleaning with limited supervision.
  • Contributing to health and safety initiatives.
  • Reporting or removing potential workplace hazards.
  • Leading safe and healthy behavior.
  • Ensuring safe use of cleaning equipment and materials.

This position requires excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently/harmoniously as part of a team.
