Leading Family Advocate

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to play a key leadership role in working with Aboriginal children and families.
- Leads complex casework involving trauma-affected children, using culturally safe and therapeutic approaches to support healing and building resilience.
- Guides and mentors staff in understanding child development, trauma, and attachment, especially in the context of Aboriginal children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee harm investigations, interviewing involved parties, managing children on protection orders, and supporting staff in court-related work, including report preparation and testimony.
- Lead teams in providing high-quality services to Aboriginal children and families, ensuring strong relationships with community members and partners.
Requirements:
- A recognised degree or a similar qualification in social work, welfare or a behavioural related field which includes a primary focus on child development, human behaviour, family dynamics and/or impacts of trauma.
- Valid Police Check, a Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Recommended).
