Animal Operations Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional leader to oversee our Rehoming Centres and drive the success of our adoption programs. As the Head of Animal Operations, you will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of our rehoming initiatives and ensuring they remain among the most successful in Australia.

About the Role

This is a pivotal leadership position that requires a hands-on approach to overseeing multiple Rehoming Centres and their council contracts. You will report directly to our CEO and work closely with Rehoming Centre Managers and local councils to achieve our vision.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Leadership: Work collaboratively with our CEO to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for our adoption programs, focusing on successfully placing companion animals into permanent loving homes.
  2. Financial Management: Oversee the department's budget and performance targets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high standards of service across all aspects of animal operations.
  3. Operational Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of passionate managers, ensuring systems and policies are effectively implemented to improve efficiency and enhance productivity across all Rehoming Centres.
  4. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with local councils and other key stakeholders, identifying and securing corporate partnerships and grant opportunities to grow our reach and impact.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in Animal Care/Animal Shelter industry
  • Proven experience in multi-site operations
  • A valid driver's license and commitment to attend all sites regularly
