CAD Operator Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join our team in Melbourne. This is a great opportunity for an individual to grow their career within the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical back-up for fire resistance tests, ensuring test reports are provided within required time scales and are of appropriate quality.
  • Provide training to other departmental members on surveying and drafting roles as needed.
  • Check client-provided specimen description details to ensure sufficient information is available for complete and thorough reports.
  • Conduct accurate surveys of specimens and record details against client information.
  • Liaise with testing/technical officers and clients to obtain or clarify information prior to or after tests.
  • Produce drawings, schedules and written descriptions in test reports using CAD and other systems.
  • Use measuring and photographic equipment during surveys and liaise with sponsors and staff as needed.
  • Complete internal systems using SharePoint and PowerBI.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience and confidence using AutoCAD LT.
  • Experience in the construction sector, specifically passive fire protection systems.
  • Similar role experience.
  • Good general education including English and Maths.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Understanding of health and safety.
  • Self-motivated individual who takes pride in their work.
  • Team player.
  • Highly organized.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Consistent high quality of work.
