Cattle Production Scheduler

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled professional to coordinate cattle production and ensure quality assurance and product specifications are met for customers.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team, with two days spent onsite at a third-party processing facility and the remainder of the week in our Brisbane office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule slaughter and production of all cattle supply in line with sales requirements and customer orders.
  • Attend processing establishment and monitor livestock, slaughter and production to ensure required handling, procedures, specifications and orders are achieved.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with third-party processors and internal teams, including intensive operations, shipping & logistics, commercial, and finance.
  • Forecasting of cattle processing numbers in accordance with forward-selling contracts of the sales team.
  • Ad-hoc support for projects in the processing team.
  • Generation of carcass feedback files for externally supplied and internally transferred cattle and distribution to relevant parties.
  • Processing of invoices associated with cattle processing and external carcass purchases, following approval routes for timely payment.
  • Attend meetings, capture major takeaways, and work with stakeholders to ensure follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance of Quality Management Systems to the highest standard.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualification in Business or Ag degree or equivalent (desired) and at least 2+ years' experience in a similar role, highly advantageous.
  • Beef specification course desirable.
  • Strong understanding of agriculture and processing industry.
  • Proficient in proactive planning and organisation.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills combined with strong facilitation and workshop skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Power BI (desired).
  • Ability to simplify complex information.
  • Skilled at supporting delivery of complex projects.
  • High attention to detail to ensure data is captured and reported correctly.
