Mining Systems Technician Role

Job Summary:

This role involves implementing and maintaining Operational Technology systems on surface mining equipment. It also entails fault-finding, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of communications networks.

The ideal candidate should have experience in radio communications, telemetry networks, and maintenance in a mining environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Routine inspections and preventive measures to ensure the optimal functioning of machinery and fixed plant
  • Fault-finding, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of communication networks (including Spectrum Analyzer and OTDR experience)
  • Design, repair, and installation of Operational Technology systems on surface mining equipment
  • Installation of communication equipment on trailers (4G LTE, MW links, Fibre Optics, Cabling)
  • Programming Motorola Digital Radios
  • Commissioning new communication technology
  • Record-keeping in CMMS- AMT/SAP
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in radio communications, telemetry networks, maintenance in mining environment
  • Open cabling ticket with fibre endorsement, structured cabling, coaxial
  • Qualification in IT, Communications, or Instrumentation
  • WA 'A' Class Electrical Workers License
  • Current manual C Class Driver's License
