Mining Systems Technician Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Our Mining Systems Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our surface mining equipment. This involves conducting regular inspections and preventive measures to maintain machinery and fixed plant, as well as troubleshooting and repairing communications networks.

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, repairing, and installing Operational Technology systems on surface mining equipment, including Wenco fleet management, 2-way radios, collision awareness systems.

Furthermore, they will install communication equipment on trailers (4G LTE, MW links, Fibre Optics, Cabling) and programme Motorola Digital Radios.

To round off their responsibilities, the Mining Systems Technician will also be involved in commissioning new communication technology and maintaining accurate records in our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Requirements:

  • Experience in radio communications, telemetry networks, maintenance in mining environment.
  • Open cabling ticket with fibre endorsement, structured cabling, coaxial (desirable).
  • Qualification in IT, Communications, or Instrumentation (desirable).
  • WA 'A' Class Electrical Workers License (highly desirable).
  • Current manual C Class Driver's License.
