PowerStation Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Station Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Energy Queensland. As a key member of our Remote & Embedded Generation Design Team, you will play a critical role in designing, installing, and commissioning remote power station and decarbonisation projects across Queensland.
Key Responsibilities- Provide engineering advice and designs to stakeholders across Energy Queensland and customers.
- Engage and collaborate with a wide range of SMEs & Stakeholders and be involved with technical discussions with customers and their technical representatives to deliver high-quality designs for EQL's Isolated Networks.
- Design, installation, and commissioning support for a variety of unique and interesting remote power station and decarbonisation projects, servicing communities from remote Western Queensland all the way through to Cape York and the Torres Strait.
- Provide expert engineering advice, calculations/estimates, reports, sketches, and analysis for the provision of safe, reliable, and affordable power generation into remote networks, as well as integrating new generation sources, energy storage, and demand management technologies.
- Play a key role in standardization of power station designs across the state as we incorporate this technology.
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated knowledge of standards and legislation surrounding electrical engineering.
- Experience with Design, Installation, or Commissioning of Remote & Embedded Generation Systems, Protection System Design, Substation Design, and/or Hybrid Power Station Design.
- Demonstrated abilities in engineering calculations and analysis techniques, and high-level written and oral communication skills which translate to effective stakeholder management ability.
- RPEQ would be advantageous, but is not essential for this position.
