About the Opportunity
Ivory Group is a leading recruitment agency, and we are currently seeking a Senior Workplace Injury Coordinator to join their team. As a key member of the Integrated Risk Management team, you will play a crucial role in managing Council's injury claims and influencing return to work outcomes.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing workers compensation claims, implementing targeted injury management initiatives, and strategizing improvements for the council's WC process to reduce the number and severity of injuries, claims, and annual costs. You will also investigate claims and build return-to-work programs, as well as build relationships with internal stakeholders and motivate employees to increase workplace health and safety awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Council's workers compensation claims, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines
- Implement targeted injury management initiatives to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the council's WC process, reducing the number and severity of injuries, claims, and annual costs
- Investigate claims and develop return-to-work programs to support injured employees
- BUILD strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including employees, managers, and HR representatives, to promote workplace health and safety awareness and best practices
Requirements
- Return to Work Accreditation
- Significant experience in RTW coordination and workplace investigations
- Local Council or construction industry experience
- Excellent understanding of workers compensation legislative standards and guidelines
- Experience using Vault and dealing with insurer State Cover
About the Role
This is a permanent opportunity for a Local Council based in the Southern Highlands. The successful candidate will enjoy a healthy work-life balance with hybrid working arrangements and variable days off. You will be expected to attend Council's three sites - main office and two depots.
