Equality and Inclusion Specialist

This role involves creating and implementing plans to promote equality and inclusion within the community.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies that address systemic barriers and promote cultural diversity;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to raise awareness about social justice issues;
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of plans and make recommendations for improvement;
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed and engaged in equality efforts.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in social justice work, preferably in a community setting;
  • Strong knowledge of Australian history, culture, and social principles;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Able to work collaboratively with diverse groups and build strong relationships;
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions;
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, such as education or sociology;
  • Experience working with communities and developing social action plans;
  • Knowledge of Australian policy and its impact on marginalized groups;
  • Fluency in an Indigenous language.
