About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at Hunter New England Mental Health Service. As a Specialist Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical leadership and supervision to well-established teams, working alongside other Consultants, registrars, and junior medical staff.
You will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients, families, and carers, as well as participating in the on-call psychiatrist roster for after-hours telephone advice.

About Our Team:
Hunter New England Mental Health Service operates from 8 inpatient sites with 328 beds and more than 20 community-based sites across the district. Our service employs around 1600 healthcare staff, including more than 150 medical staff and 13 Clinical Directors.
As a member of our team, you will have access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities, ensuring you stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in your field.
About the Salary:
The estimated salary for this role is AU$220,000 - AU$320,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
Requirements:
- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
- Demonstrated recent and comprehensive experience in Psychiatry as a Consultant
- Ability to participate in the on-call psychiatrist roster for after-hours telephone advice
- Provide high-quality and compassionate care directly to patients, families, and carers
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to multidisciplinary teams
- Support, advise, teach, and direct junior medical staff undergoing professional training at different levels
