Job Title: Account Manager

 

The primary responsibility of the Account Manager is to oversee a designated portfolio of clients, ensuring retention and supporting new business growth. Key accountabilities include maintaining technical expertise, leading the account management team, handling customer inquiries, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and industry expertise
  • Direct daily activities of the account management team members
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals, ensuring seamless transitions
  • Conduct thorough client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals
  • Monitor reports and take prompt action on delinquent accounts, collecting outstanding balances
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness in agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms
  • Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion
  • Maintain regular, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and any issues
  • Deliver exceptional service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond promptly to service requests
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures
  • Seek and adopt best practices to improve individual and team performance

 

Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of account management experience or 5+ years in the insurance industry
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
  • Active Property & Casualty licensing; professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional customer service, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
