Job Summary

The Library Technician plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering exceptional support to students and staff. This position requires a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills, proficient in using and promoting various digital tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Services: Assist students and staff with borrowing library materials, general questions, and research support.
  • Acquisitions and Cataloguing: Help acquire, process, and maintain library resources while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Research Support: Deliver high-quality instruction on research and information skills to students and staff.
  • Team Management: Supervise casual staff, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Procedure Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in library procedures and train staff accordingly.
  • Liaison Role: Foster strong relationships with staff, maintaining an understanding of library services, roles, systems, and policies.

Proficiency in using and promoting technology is essential, along with skilled use and promotion of various digital tools and technologies. The successful candidate will be supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
