Senior Coastal Engineer Job Opportunity

This is an exceptional chance to work as a Senior Coastal Engineer on a talented and respected engineering team.

You will be involved in designing and planning activities for large-scale maritime facilities across various industries, including defence, local government, state government, ports, and sustainability.

Your experience will be applied across these different industries, and you will gain exposure to new and interesting projects. You will be supported by other disciplines across KBR and partner companies.

This role involves leveraging your existing coastal engineering experience to deliver concept designs through to construction phase support. While this is primarily a technical role, opportunities for leadership (project management and design management), and business development (proposal preparation and client positioning) will also be available.

  • Experience in the design, evaluation, and reporting on ports, harbours, coastal works, and marine structures
  • Knowledge of coastal modelling software, preferably DELFT-3D, SWAN, or MIKE
  • Experience working with local governments, port clients, and/or the Defence sector
  • Familiarity with Australian design codes and guidelines
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff
  • Project management and/or design management skills for small maritime projects
  • Client engagement and opportunity pursuit skills
  • Chartered Professional Engineer status or ability to get chartership within an agreed timeframe
  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Australian Government security clearance eligibility
