Coastal Engineer Opportunity

This role offers a fantastic chance to join a talented engineering team and be involved in the design and planning of large-scale maritime facilities. As a Coastal Engineer, you will work with various industries including defence, local government, state government, ports, and sustainability.

The National Maritime Team collaborates on projects such as the AUKUS nuclear powered submarine facility upgrades, clean energy initiatives like the Port Bonython Hydrogen Hub, and infrastructure developments like Clump Point Boat Ramp. You will leverage your coastal engineering experience to deliver concept designs through to construction phase support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, evaluate, and report on ports, harbours, coastal works, and marine structures
  • Work with coastal modelling software (DELFT-3D, SWAN, MIKE)
  • Collaborate with local governments, port clients, and Defence sector stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with Australian design codes and guidelines
Requirements:
  • Interest or experience in coastal engineering, modelling, dredging, or coastal protection
  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Eligibility for Australian Government security clearance
