Job Title: Return to Work Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focussed RTW Expert who has expertise in Workers Compensation scheme Claims Management or significant RTW knowledge and experience.

About the Role

As a Return to Work (RTW) Specialist in our Workers Compensation team, you will be a leader in identifying and delivering recovery and RTW outcomes for complex claims within your team.

  • You will use your expertise to identify and triage claims that are risk of exceeding expected return to work timeframes.
  • You will also work closely with the supporting case managers to identify barriers to Return to Work, positively driving a Return-to-Work Focus with Injured Workers and Employers.
Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership as key subject matter expert within your team relating to recovery and RTW, whilst supporting your team manager and wider leadership group.
  2. Manage a small portfolio of high-risk injury claims, supporting injured workers and employers with their recovery, RTW and return to health.
  3. Support Senior Case Managers with regular claim conferencing.
  4. Identify biopsychosocial risk factors leading to strategic recovery whilst achieving RTW goals.
  5. Identify claims at risk of developing secondary psychological injuries whilst implementing appropriate strategic measures to support injured workers back to full functional capacity.
  6. Undertake RTW visits and treater case conferences (both virtually and in person) when required to support recovery and RTW outcomes.
  7. Apply a person-centered management approach focusing on injured workers' needs, by setting recovery goals and supporting them to achieve these.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Workers Compensation scheme Claims Management experience, or significant RTW knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of physical and/or Mental Injury, or general Personal Injury Management concepts relating to Victoria's Workers Compensation Scheme.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience.
  • Time management, administrative and organisational skills.
  • Experience in leading people, teams or key initiatives as well as coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role is also ideal.
