Ranger Position
Job Description:
The Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley seeks experienced and motivated Rangers to join their team. As a Ranger, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and providing high standards of service to the community.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with various Acts, including the Dog Act, Cat Act, Control of Off-Road Vehicles Act, Litter Act, Caravan and Camping Grounds Act, Bush Fire Act, and Local Government Act;
- Undertaking fire break and property inspections to ensure compliance with the Bush Fires Act;
- Implementing fire control measures, including controlled burns and fire extinguishment;
- Responding to abandoned vehicles in accordance with relevant legislation;
- Managing the animal management facility, including cleaning, maintaining registers, releasing, rehoming, or euthanising animals when necessary, and coordinating fee collection;
- Undertaking the removal and relocation of snakes within municipal boundaries;
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Regulatory Compliance Skills:
- Current Provide First Aid certification;
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Basic Emergency Life Support qualifications;
- Current unrestricted WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence;
- Reptile handling and capture experience and certification;
- Furnarms handling and safety certification and experience;
