Job Opportunity for Ranger Role

A key aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, providing high standards of service to the community. This includes ensuring compliance with various Acts such as the Dog Act 1976, Cat Act 2011, Control of Off-Road Vehicles Act 1978, Litter Act 1979, Caravan and Camping Grounds Act 1995, Bush Fire Act 1994, and the Local Government Act.

The ideal candidate will have skills in regulatory compliance, current first aid certification, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic emergency life support qualifications, and relevant experience in reptile handling and capture, firearms handling and safety, and fire control measures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Undertake fire break and property inspections;
  • Implement fire control measures including controlled burns and fire extinguishment;
  • Respond to abandoned vehicles;
  • Manage the animal management facility;
  • Remove and relocate snakes within municipal boundaries.

Requirements:

  • Regulatory compliance skills;
  • Current first aid certification;
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic emergency life support qualifications;
  • Unrestricted WA "C" Class Driver's Licence;
  • Reptile handling and capture experience and certification;
  • Firearms handling and safety certification and experience.
