Job Description

We are looking for a skilled professional to manage the full payroll cycle end-to-end.

This role involves interpreting time and attendance data, preparing payroll system finalisation, banking, payroll clearing, and Single Touch Payroll reconciliation.

You will be trusted to oversee complex payroll processes, ensure compliance with legislative and industrial requirements, and take ownership of end-of-month reporting and reconciliations.

Beyond technical delivery, this role provides opportunities to mentor payroll team members, contribute to system improvements, and work on initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll end-to-end, including payroll system finalisation through to banking, payroll clearing, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reconciliation.
  • Integrate and interpret time & attendance data, ensuring accurate flow of information into payroll systems.
  • Lead payroll compliance activities including PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, and end-of-month reconciliations.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to payroll team members, leaders, and employees.
  • Support system upgrades, process improvements, and payroll-related projects to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to deliver high-quality payroll services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing end-to-end payroll in a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with payroll system finalisation, banking processes, payroll clearing, and STP reporting/reconciliation.
  • Experience with time & attendance (T&A) data integration, interpretation, and end-of-month processes.
  • High attention to detail with ability to resolve complex payroll queries.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems such as Chris21, SAP, SuccessFactors, or similar enterprise platforms.
