Base pay range

A$100,000.00/yr - A$110,000.00/yr

Location: Perth

Salary: Pro rata to $110,000 FTE

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse, multi-site workforce operating in the non for profit sector. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

This is a part-time role, working approximately 3 days per week. There is flexibility to suit school hours etc. This role is office based.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a large workforce (approx.450+), interpreting Awards and enterprise agreements, and maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation.

This role also provides expert advice to internal stakeholders, supports payroll team members, and contributes to process improvement initiatives and system upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately process fortnightly payroll and off-cycle payments
Maintain up-to-date employee records including tax, superannuation, and banking information
Interpret and apply Awards and Enterprise Agreements correctly
Ensure compliance with PAYG, STP, superannuation, salary packaging, and termination payments
Generate payroll reports and analytics to support Finance and senior leadership
Supervise payroll support staff and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment
Identify and implement process improvements and support system integrations

What You'll Bring

Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or related field
Minimum 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll processing
Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Experience interpreting Awards and enterprise agreements
Skilled in reporting, reconciliation, and supporting workforce planning
Proficient in Microsoft Office; Inerva experience highly regarded
Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of discretion
Prior experience in community services, not-for-profit, or healthcare sectors is desirable

Additional Requirements

Current (or willingness to obtain) National Police Clearance
