The role of an HSE Advisor offers a permanent position with stability, the lifestyle benefits of being home every night, and opportunities for career growth through ongoing development. This appointment will provide immediate support in the management and closeout of incidents and near misses.
Key Responsibilities:- Coaching and advice to leaders on legislative compliance, risk control and assessment standards, and incident/injury management will be provided.
- Support will be given to leaders in conducting risk assessments and using risk management tools.
- Championing the Group Critical Risk Management program across the workshop will be key.
- Proactive engagement with employees through prestart and toolbox meetings, site visits, and HSE discussions is essential.
- Guidance on accurate and timely reporting of hazards, incidents, and injuries in safety management systems will be offered.
- Assisting in incident investigations and ensuring injuries are managed in line with procedures, working closely with the Injury Management Advisor, will be crucial.
- Mentorship of Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and facilitating monthly HSR meetings will be necessary.
- Conducting inspections, audits, and other assurance activities to drive compliance and continuous improvement will be key.
- Completion of HSE reports and assistance in developing and reviewing HSE plans, procedures, and supporting documentation will be required.
- A Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety is required.
- First Aid certification (HLTAID003) is essential.
- A current C Class Driver's Licence is necessary.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in HSE roles is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and best practices is crucial.
- Understanding of risk and critical risk management principles is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems (e.g., SAI360 or MYOSH) is required.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholder groups is crucial.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills are necessary.
Desirable Qualifications: ICAM Investigation qualification, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, Lead or Internal Auditor qualification, Experience in manufacturing or resources sectors.
