Director - Nuclear Safety and Regulation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Engineer to join our team as a Director - Nuclear Safety and Regulation Specialist. This is a key role within the APS, responsible for providing strategic advice and leading complex nuclear engineering and science work.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and Manage a High-Performing Team: Exercise your leadership skills to lead a high-performing and cohesive team, providing guidance and direction to ensure successful outcomes.
- Regulatory Expertise: Require extensive knowledge of nuclear-power safety and radiological protection principles, as well as regulatory frameworks, government decision-making, and policy requirements.
- Strategic Advice: Provide a strategic level of expert advice on the assessment and provision of licenses for facilities, as well as the regulatory audit, inspection, compliance, and assurance of facility license holders related to nuclear powered submarines.
- Stakeholder Management: Actively manage key stakeholder relationships, identifying relevant stakeholders' expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.
- Performance Management: Develop, coach, and review individual, team, and business performance, identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement.
- Professional Development: Be accountable for contributing towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest industry developments and best practices.
