Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Work Health and Safety (WHS) management system, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Manage communication channels and provide guidance to employees on WHS-related queries, ensuring a proactive and supportive approach to workplace safety.
  • Offer informed advice on legislative, regulatory, and procedural matters, managing issue resolution and complaints in a fair and timely manner.
  • Coordinate health and wellbeing initiatives, such as seasonal flu vaccinations, safety month, and health and wellbeing week, to promote a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Manage workstation assessments, respond to incident and hazard reports, and assist with invoice payments, ensuring efficient and effective management of WHS-related tasks.
  • Provide secretariat support for quarterly Work Health & Safety Committee Meetings, facilitating open communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Undertake project work related to WHS and wellbeing as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A strong commitment to health and safety, with relevant WHS qualifications and a sound understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and its regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A solid understanding of record management principles and safety risk management practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective manner.
  • Strong judgement and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and focus on continuous improvement.

  • $87k – $93k + Super
  • Baseline Clearance preferred or the ability to obtain 6-month non-ongoing contract
