The role of a Domestic and Family Violence Practitioner plays a crucial part in supporting individuals who have experienced domestic and family violence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting client intakes, including initial risk assessments and safety planning
  • Delivering domestic and family violence counselling, education, and group work
  • Providing support to clients attending court in relation to domestic and family violence matters
  • Supporting individuals to identify their goals and immediate needs
  • Making suitable referrals on behalf of clients experiencing violence and abuse
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science with eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association are mandatory
  • A current QLD Working with Children Check - or willingness to apply
  • Evidence of Australian work rights
  • A current Police Check (within the last three months)
  • A current driver's licence
