Job Description


The Director of Observational Technology will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of observational systems and services across the organization. This includes managing a team of staff geographically distributed across Australia and its territories.



Key Responsibilities


Strategic direction setting for the observation technology portfolio

Embedding asset management capability and systems engineering disciplines

Providing informed advice and participation in executive processes

Responding to media and parliamentary requests

Participating in international forums such as the World Meteorological Organization (WMO)



Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
  • Detailed knowledge and experience working with operational technology, engineering capabilities, program management and delivery
  • Experience managing systems that deliver to customer needs and expectations
